We Had Myriad Suns, 2022

We Had Myriad Suns was inspired by real-life reports from the Summer 2021, when people across the U.S. documented overwhelming number of dead and diseased birds. Concurrently in Cuauhtémoc, Mexico, hundreds of dead yellow-headed blackbirds fell from the sky. By taking these occurrences to the extreme and imagining a day when all birds become critically endangered, I reflect on the complex history of coexistence between humans and birds and the ways this interspecies relationship has shaped our cultural, scientific, and psychic worlds.
